Mr. Carpenter is a Co-Founder and Principal of Harbour Bridge Ventures, Inc. (www.HBVinc.com). He is also a Co-Founder, Executive Vice President, and a Director of Ius Juris, LLC (www.IusJuris.com) a firm providing outsourced services to corporate and private practice attorneys. Mr. Carpenter has authored numerous articles for industry publications, is a frequent speaker at entrepreneurial, technology and financial industry conferences, and has also been a guest speaker for courses at the university level. He also serves on the Boards of Directors and Advisory Boards of several privately held companies. A former commercial banker, Bruce served as Executive Vice President for a large U.S. commercial bank before moving in 1983 to the software industry to assume the Presidency of a financial software company. In 1985, he helped found a new banking software company, CBS Worldwide, and was continuously involved in the successful growth and senior management of this company until its acquisition by Fiserv. He continued to fill senior executive roles with Fiserv after its acquisition of CBS Worldwide until leaving Fiserv to found Harbour Bridge Ventures in 2003. During his tenure with CBS Worldwide he helped to grow CBS to over US$ 220 million in annual revenues while serving over 500 leading financial institutions in more than 55 countries. Fiserv, now the corporate parent of CBS Worldwide, is the leading global provider of technology and technology management services to the financial services industry. With over 5 billion US$ in annual revenues, Fiserv serves over 18,000 clients worldwide. In addition to his responsibilities with Fiserv CBS Worldwide, Mr. Carpenter also served a key role in Fiserv’s merger and acquisition program. Mr. Carpenter has a unique blend of over thirty-five years of executive management experience in the consulting, venture capital and private equity, banking and technology industries and holds a Bachelors Degree (BA) from Lafayette College and Masters Degree (MBA) from Columbia University. Long viewed as an innovator in the application of technology to produce competitive advantage in the financial services industry, he has provided both strategic banking and IT consultancy to many leading, global financial service brands including, Citigroup, ABN Amro, Prudential, CIBC, BCP, Westpac, Bank of America, TD Waterhouse, GE Capital and many others. Bruce is a Charter Member of TIE, a global entrepreneurial mentoring organization, and the Turnaround Management Association, TMA. He has also served in numerous executive and fund raising leadership positions for local, regional, and national charitable organizations and social agencies including the YMCA and United Way. |
